About Us

Meet our experienced team as we look forward to welcoming you to our fabulous studio space located in the glorious East Devon countryside.

Katie

Katie has been designing, making, and altering wedding dresses for almost 20 years and now is the proud owner of Honiton Dressmaker.

“I love working with brides to make their bridal gown a truly beautiful and unique piece, as well as fitting them perfectly and showing off their personality and figure.”

Katie trained in theatrical costume construction at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has worked on costume projects across the country, including at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Beth

Beth graduated from Wimbledon College of Arts with a degree in Costume for Theatre and Screen and joined Honiton Dressmaker in Spring 2021. A background in costume has helped inform Beth’s love of prints, colours, and textures in a variety of fabrics and she loves nothing more than to translate these elements into alternative bridal-wear, helping bring ideas to life through her designs.

“I believe that magic is found in the details, slow fashion and bespoke design are key, and that you should never feel confined to the trends of the time or the expectation of tradition.”

Away from work Beth enjoys wandering across Devon’s amazing beaches and countryside, helping create costume at the local theatre company, and trying to catch as many local folk gigs as possible.

Abi

Abi has been working as a seamstress at Honiton Dressmaker since 2022 after graduating with a degree in fashion design.

With an exceptional eye for detail, Abi has a great understanding of garment construction and the alteration process as well as a love of delicate fabrics, intricate details and embellishments.

Outside of work Abi enjoys trips to the theatre and taking part in the Somerset carnival scene. She also loves spending time with her pet guinea pigs, Maple and Hazel.
